2011 - 2012 COMMITTEE INFORMATION

  • For committees for the upcoming 2011-2012 school year, we first offered positions to the PTA members who acted as chairpersons during the 2010-11 school year. In the event that new leadership is needed, we reached out to others to chair committees.
  • If you are interested in leading or participating on a committee, please email Haylie Iseman, 2011-12 PTA President, and/or complete this form and send it to the Bells Mill main office.

TIPS & TRICKS FOR COMMITTEE CHAIRS:

1. Supplies – Please check the PTA supply closet before purchasing any supplies. This closet contains materials intended for PTA use (including utensils, paper goods, tables, tickets and party supplies).

2. PTA Board Member – Each PTA committee has been assigned a PTA Board Member, who is ready and willing to assist with the needs of his or her assigned committee. Committee chairs and members should not hesitate to reach out to your assigned Board Member at the beginning of the year to get acquainted.

3. Volunteers – Committee chairs should feel free to ask for extra volunteers to help with their committees, e.g. by sending a bear mail, or posting the request on our Facebook page. Please email Haylie Isemanor Mandy Lemar for assistance spreading the word.

4. BearMail Communication - Due to the overwhelming response to the recent parent survey, BearMail communications will now only be sent out one time per week. Please think ahead about event reminders and flyers.  

5. BearMail Rules of the Road – These are available on our website, and explain how to get a listing in BearMail.

6. No Printed Flyers - Our PTA has officially gone green! All PTA flyers will be distributed via BearMail, and are also available on the PTA website. Please email any committee flyers to Haylie Iseman and Mandy Lemar by Tuesday of the week you would like the flyer distributed via BearMail. Additionally, committees distributing flyers must also print approximately 25 paper copies of each flyer for families without internet access. A list of the number of paper copies needed per classroom will be posted at the copy machine.

7. Vendor Policies - The Bells Mill PTA is a not-for-profit organization that has an obligation to closely monitor the income and expenses that flow throw it.  Please make sure that your vendors are aware of our vendor policies.
