TIPS & TRICKS FOR COMMITTEE CHAIRS:

1. Supplies – Please check the PTA supply closet before purchasing any supplies. We have a ton of materials in the closet that is for PTA use (utensils, tables, tickets, party supplies, etc.)

2. PTA Board Member – Each of you has a PTA board member assigned to your committee that is ready and willing to help with any of your needs. Each will reach out to you at the beginning of the year to get acquainted.

3. Volunteers – Please feel free to ask for extra volunteers to help with your committee. You can do this by sending a bear mail, or posting the request on our Facebook page.

4. Bear Mail Communication - Due to the overwhelming response to the recent parent survey, BearMail’s will now only be sent out one time per week. Please think ahead about event reminders and flyers.  

5. Bear Mail Rules of the Road – These are available on our website & explain how to get a listing in BearMail

6. No Printed Flyers - Beginning in September 2010, all PTA flyers will be distributed via Bear Mail and available on the PTA website only. Therefore, please email your flyers to Ali.weitzman@gmail.com and MHLemar@verizon.net by Tuesdays of each week as Bear Mail will be sent weekly. It will be necessary to print about 25 copies for those without internet access. A list of the number of copies needed per teacher will be posted at the copy machine.

7. Vendor Policies - The Bells Mill PTA is a not for profit organization that has an obligation to closely monitor the income and expenses that flow throw it.  In this regard, please make sure that your vendors are aware of the vendor policies.
