Board of Education approves the superintendent's recommendation

Latest update

At the Board of Education meeting on Thursday, March 26, 2026, the Board voted to approve the superintendent's recommendation for the Woodward study, Crown study, and regional programs model together. Julie Yang voted against the recommendation, but a majority voted to approve all three resolutions.

In short, all Bells Mill students will attend Cabin John Middle School together and continue on to Churchill.

Wootton High School will be relocated to the new Crown Farm site.

Thank you all for your advocacy over these past few months.

Notable changes for the Cabin John / Churchill clusters

  • Seven Locks, Potomac, and Travilah Elementary Schools will join Bells Mill at Cabin John Middle School.
  • Stone Mill and Cold Spring Elementary Schools, which currently attend Cabin John Middle School, will go to Hoover with Wayside and Beverly Farms.
  • Cold Spring will now go to Churchill instead of Wootton.
